Deafness Awareness Training

Did you know that 95% of deaf children are born to parents who can hear and that 70% of lip-reading is guesswork?

Deafness Awareness Training (DAT) is a specialised program, delivered by Access MyTraining, by accredited trainers who hold a minimum of Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, to provide anreal insight into the Deaf community.

Whether you want to improve your service delivery to deaf clients or ensure that your deaf employee is included in the team, our customised DAT will give you the information and practical tips to improve your interactions with deaf people.

If you have a deaf employee, you may be eligible to have the costs of this training reimbursed by the Australian Government through the Employment Assistance Fund. The Employment Assistance Fund provides Government funding to assist employers of people with disabilities to purchase a range of work related modifications and services.
